Academic Advisor
Provides academic guidance to student athletes. He assists students in understanding and complying with University, College, and NCAA rules, choosing courses and majors, developing time management skills, and resolving personal and academic issues.
Advising Sport Focus
Men's and Women's Golf, and for football: Defensive Backs, Running Backs, and Wide Receivers.
Football Laison
Ahmad is the department's academic liason with the Football program.
Background
Ahmad is a CAL graduate and former track & field student athlete. After completing his Bachelor's degrees in Sociology he went on to earn his Master's in Education at Cal, specializing in Athletics and Academic Achievement while coaching for the Track and Field team. After graduating from the MA program, Ahmad worked in corporate and search firm recruiting for 3 years before returning to Cal, in the summer of 2008, here at the Athletic Study Center.
