Academic Advisor
Provides academic guidance to student athletes. She assists students in understanding and complying with University, College, and NCAA rules, choosing courses and majors, developing time management skills, and resolving personal and academic issues.
Advising Sport Focus
Baseball, Men's Swimming and Diving, Tennis, and for football: Defensive Line and Line Backers.
Background
Chaniqua is a UCLA graduate and former track & field student athlete. After completing her Bachelor's degrees in Sociology and African-American studies, she went on to earn her Master's in Education at Cal, specializing in Athletics and Academic Achievement. After graduating, she worked at the University of San Francisco, as the Director of Academic Services for student athletes. Later returning to Cal, Chaniqua worked as an academic advisor in the department of Sociology prior to her arrival here at the Athletic Study Center.
